A spicy adventure

In 5 days time, my very good friend and awesome TA, Jackie and I will be getting on a long haul flight to Kochi (with a few hours in Mumbai to kill too).
This is the final piece of a year-long jigsaw in our connecting classrooms journey. We are visiting our link school in Kochi, Kerala for the first time, having already hosted their staff in June this year.
Our link is based around the joint aim of global citizenship; creating relationships between children and staff across the globe. Two very different groups, culturally and educationally, but in our case like-minded in the fact we are both Catholic schools.
This doesn’t have to be the case if you join the British Council’s connecting classrooms programme, but we chose our school for this reason, and we chose the location because about 25% of our children come from Kerala (though many will not have had the opportunity to ever go.)
We are really looking forward to learning plenty during our visit, and also finding ways of taking ideas and inspiration from the community back to King’s Lynn and our staff and children.
So this is my first blog post on our spice journey, and I hope to blog regularly with pictures whilst we are away. I do hope you will follow the posts, share them with friends and family, be inspired to try this opportunity yourselves and hopefully learn alongside us as we meet interesting people, visit unusual places and take on different challenges.
For now, ennal akatte, goodbye.
